Who Am I?
When we discover our true identity we are readied to become aware of God with us
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. NRS Genesis 1:27
The created Image of God longs for an awareness of unity with God our Creator
Practicing the Presence of God Moment to Moment
Over and over God makes a very special promise to God's beloved, you and me, who are created in God's image. That promise from God is, "I am with you." God's presence and the promise of God's presence permeate the Scriptures.
"My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." NRS
Exodus 33:14
For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them." NRS
Matthew 18:20
and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."NRS
Matthew 28:20
The promise is undeniable, but two big questions remain...
"How can I know God's presence in my life?
"How can I respond to God's presence in my life."
The first is a question of an expanding awareness of God's presence and the second is a question regarding what it is to sense and know God’s will for our lives.
The Awakening Institute for Spiritual Formation is built around the eternal mystical reality of "God with Us" and God's gift that makes God's presence something we can experience here and now. This is then combined with the active reality of our call to be who God is guiding us to be in this world. We call this "Contemplation in Action."

Certification in Spiritual Direction
Discover and/or learn more about the profound effect that having a spiritual director (sometimes called a spiritual guide, companion or friend) can have on your walk with God. Also discover, for yourself, if God is calling you to be such a person for others.
